About ETIAS
European Travel Authorization and Information System (ETIAS) is a new visa waiver system developed by the EU authorities to increase the Union’s safety and provide a pleasant traveling experience for inbound visitors.
Set to be launched in November 2025, the ETIAS will enable Canadian citizens to visit the EU/Schengen Area with a digital travel permit for three years (up to 90 days per visit).

ETIAS Application Requirements
ETIAS application process is a simple procedure. After submission, your application will be checked through different security databases, including Interpol, Europol, and Schengen Information System (SIS).
If approved, you’ll get an email with your ETIAS authorization within hours. Please note that your ETIAS approval cannot be transferred between passports.
ETIAS application requirements include the following:
- A valid biometric passport.
- Completed application form.
- Valid email for communication.

- Place of birth
- Current Address
- Passport Information
- Employment History
- Medical History
- Travel History
- Criminal History
- Educational Background
Cancelation or Denial of ETIAS Application
Cancelation / Denial of ETIAS application
Although the ETIAS application is estimated to have about a 95% of approval rate, your ETIAS authorization might be denied or canceled if you:
- Intentionally or unintentionally, fail to provide truthful information in your application.
- Pose a threat to the security of the EU and its citizens
- Overstayed your last visit in the EU/Schengen Area and now are blacklisted from entering the Schengen.
The embassy may refuse the travel permit if there is an essential impression that the information provided by the applicant is not accurate.
